Jakub Cholewka is a documentary photographer from Poland. He lives in Wawrzeńczyce, a rural commune just off the outskirts of Kraków. His work is driven by a fascination in local customs, people, and changes in the surrounding environment.
With a career in technical writing and translation, he pursues photography in his free time. He focuses on long-term photography projects and he also shares his thoughts on photography in his Substack newsletter.
Currently, he works on two projects – one documenting the Nowa Huta district in Kraków, the other focusing on his local community.
